Sofokus was selected as a partner to map out the starting point for digitalization and create a plan on how to start a digital business in practice.

As we wanted to develop the business by making full use of digitality, we started by increasing customer understanding. At the same time, a game plan for commercializing new digital services was made.

I had been pondering some ideas on my own, but I imagined they would be difficult to implement or even impossible. For Sofokus, on the other hand, they seemed to be very doable and nothing uncommon“, says Salonen.

From ideas to concrete

As a result of the consultation, Sofokus submitted to Venetelakka Ramstedt a plan for resourcing and launching e-business, modelling customer relationship management and system architecture, and an initial plan for advancing the project.

As a follow-up to these steps, the preconditions for creating a system for engine maintenance bookings and integrating it into the ERP system were further explored. A suitable model was found and started to be implemented together with Uniqore. Thanks to the maintenance booking pipe and real-time calendar, the boatyard’s customers can easily book seasonal maintenance for their engines, for example, and Ramstedt employees can focus on maintenance and customer service work instead of managing bookings.
